Kate has extensive experience within the commercial, government, sport and not-for-profit sectors, providing high-level expertise in strategic and operational planning and delivery, stakeholder management, organisational change management and political strategy.
Kate has also holds a number of non-executive director roles. Kate is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and is a Director of the Melbourne Football Club, a member of the Ministerial Freight Advisory Committee, Chair of Enterprise Maribyrnong, a Director of Melbourne University Sport, and is an Ambassador for the Skin Cancer Foundation and Berry Street.
Des Powell has held a range of senior executive management roles in both the private and public sectors in Australia and Asia prior to operating his own consultancy business up to 2015. In addition he holds a number of key governance appointments. These include Chair of Federation Training, Chair of MacKillop Family Services, Director of Barwon Water, a Director of Mercy Education and as a sessional commissioner at Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor regulation.
Peter Niblett has extensive knowledge in finance, risk management and major technology projects. Until 2016 he was an Executive Director in Risk Advisory Services with Ernst & Young in Melbourne. Earlier he worked with Ernst & Young in London where he coordinated the technology activities for the firm in the UK government sector. His responsibilities included delivering large-scale projects on procurement and shared services across all government agencies in the UK.
Peter is a University Council member of Deakin University and is a independent member of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Victorian Auditor-General’s Office (VAGO).
A diversified senior executive and business leader with 28 years experience in sales and marketing, business development and shipping in Asia and Australia. Demonstrated success in strategy development and implementation, safety leadership, financial management, capital management, sales and marketing, people development and risk management. Lived and worked in London, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, China and Australia.
He is a former Chief Operating Officer of Rio Tinto Marine and, more recently, Chairman for six years of Port Waratah Coal Services.
Captain Shennan brings a wealth of experience to the role being a Master Mariner and having previously served as the Harbour Master at the ports of Portland and Melbourne and Deputy Chief Executive and Harbour Master at Harwich Haven Authority in the United Kingdom.

Stuart is an infrastructure and utilities professional with experience in network operations, strategic analysis and economic regulation. His industry experience includes water, telecommunications and heavy manufacturing. Stuart’s key skills include the analysis of complex infrastructure networks, assessment of business expenditure and aligning strategic analysis with operational outcomes. Stuart has qualifications in civil engineering, economics and computing.
